Map Description

Moments after deploying your CY, a flaming apparition appears in your base. A skeleton appears at the exit ramp from your base. Cries of soldiers eternally reliving the anguish of their last battles and other ominous sounds alert you that something is not quite right before even leaving the safety of your base. Welcome to Wildefire's Haunted Forest where ghosts lurk, lying in wait to ambush your forces and recruit them into their Undead Army. These ghosts are not always successful in turning your units against you, but their attack is so demoralizing that units forget their original orders, requiring your leadership to get them moving again. Even the heavens storm in anger whenever any of these foul abominations appear and disappear, as they often do before your very eyes. Your ground forces are forced to brave the forest without any air support because air units cannot penentrate the supernatural aura surrounding the forest. Only dogs, a commander's best friend, and terror drones have the preternatural vision needed to unveil these ghastly entities before your units wander into their range. But even dogs and drones find it difficult to attack these ethereal creatures, often needing to be ordered more than once to attack. There is no hope of permanently ridding the forest of ghosts as you cannot permanently kill what is already dead -- or Undead. Just fight your way through to your more earthly opponents.

Haunted Forest had made an astonishing 6-star rating based on a 5-star rating system at RA2MapCity back when Z_Outlaw ran it. We here at Volrath's Castle were all very impressed with Haunted Forest and have decided to honor it's awarded rating of 6 out of 5!!!

Map Description

High Voltage is a mod map that improves Tesla tanks (range, ROF, and hit points) and Tesla coils (range and ROF). Paradrops from tech airport capture are seven Tesla troopers, regardless of side. (American special paradrop is unchanged.) Russia is the country to play at least once on this map, for these Tesla tanks are not only good at killing infantry and terror drones as always, but are now a good all-purpose unit. High output oil derricks (with increased bonus on capture) and CYs for both sides should lend to unpredictable gameplay in multiplayer, as well as a few "booby traps" (that aren't mods) hidden on the map. Allied power plant output is tripled, in keeping with the high voltage theme. Prism tanks have increased range, so that they'll still outrange the RA1-style Tesla coils. Early scouts will probably not survive the trip across the map, so capture the Spy Sat Uplink near your starting point early on. Play FFA mode in skirmishes to see a lot of arcs and sparks. ;-) Be careful of the Neutral (white) Tesla tanks on the map. Your units and defense structures will not automatically fire on them unless fired upon. They win most battles because they get that critical first hit if you're not micromanaging things. They do come to the defense of any Neutral structure under attack and may retaliate if you destroy or capture (and sell) a Neutral CY. You have been warned. Allied players note: garrisoning the Kremlin will give you the ability to build Yuris. Have fun!
